The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 20th March 2024!
Morning all,
First and foremost, a massive HAPPY BIRTHDAY to one of our own, the main man Luke Rushbrook!!! Luke celebrates his birthday today so let’s send him some love!! Happy Birthday mate, enjoy your day, and thanks for all your continued help on the site :)
We are actually going to be recording the latest Podcast today because we have a guest and today suits them! Said guest is the popular Carefree Jam, who is a good friend of ours anyway and we wanted to bring someone with a bit of energy to liven up the international break! I think Jai has some plans for something a bit different on this show, so do check in when out later today!
A bunch of comment articles from me today as I have been pondering and thinking out loud!
The first one is on the booing that Raheem Sterling has received lately. I don’t rate him, and I’ll never shy away from giving my opinions on that, but I also think the booing has been harsh and probably unnecessary. However, criticism is part of the game and always has been, and unfortunately that side of it the players just needs to suck up. Much more on that here.
Nicolas Jackson has been in fine form lately and has absolutely deserved his flowers. We praised him on the Podcast last week, and he has certainly been playing much better in recent games. But for me, I do believe we still need to sign a new striker in the summer but perhaps it’s not a question of whether we still need one or not, but the type of striker we need? You can take part in that debate here.
And my final comment piece of the day is on a player who I rate highly and always have done, Carney Chukwuemeka. This guy has been so impactful this season and if it wasn’t for injuries perhaps he would be a more regular feature in the starting Xl. But now he’s back and fit again, he needs to be starting games right now for me. I explain why and how in here.
Luke the birthday boy has his anchor man role back today so it’s time to round up with his latest musings. He’s looked at a throwback match from 2011, when Chelsea beat Manchester City 2-0! You can read all about that and happily re-live it in here.
Oh and of course, the live blog was running again yesterday, and Joe has all your latest Chelsea news from the last 24 hours in the same place here.
Joe will also be on the latest live blog that I will be firing up from around 8.30am this morning, see you there!
Peace, Si.
Happy birthday Luke! 🎉🎁🎂🍺
