Cole Palmer: At HOME already....
I can't quite believe how quickly Cole has settled in to life at Chelsea!
Today I am taking a look at Cole Palmer’s excellent start to life at The Bridge.
Overview:
In 9 games since joining Chelsea Cole has started 6 games and appeared from the bench in 3. He already has 5 goal contributions at a rate of one goal contribution every 115 minutes, a very impressive start.
It is not just direct goal contributions that have been impressive, but his all round performances have been excellent, since he broke into the starting XI Chelsea have scored 11 goals in 6 games as opposed to 7 goals in the 7 games before that. We have won 4, drawn 1 and lost 1 since he broke into the team, he is making a big difference.
The stats:
These stats are all in comparison to similar players (attacking midfielders and wingers) in the top 5 leagues and European competitions.
Please bare in mind he has only played 426 league minutes and these stats are based off of players playing 690 minutes!! It makes what you are about to read even more impressive
Passing;
These numbers are just insane, he is so creative and accurate with his passing, some absolutely incredible numbers in there.
Possession;
The carry numbers and passes received are just top top level, he really has elevated our attack and brings some class to it, he always wants the ball and you can see that by the passes received stats.
Shot Creating Actions:
These are a slightly random stat but nonetheless, impressive. He creates shots and chances so well and when we have a confident strike force we will see our goal numbers increase further. I really think Palmer and Nkunku will compliment each other really well.
The Eye Test:
Well, Palmer has definitely passed this so far, he shows determination, hunger, a will to win, passion and always wants the ball.
All of those things are the bare minimum us as fans want to see from players, unfortunately we have suffered in recent years watching players that are not that way inclined, but we have found one hell of a player in Palmer and I am absolutely over the moon City let him go!
He will continue to improve, he is only 21 and just getting started, the more settled our team becomes, the more he will stand out. I am so excited to see how he continues to grow, I genuinely believe he will end up being our star player in this project and the player that combines the midfield and attack to lead us to trophies and titles!
I hope you all enjoyed this, have a good weekend and UP THE CHELS!!

Excellent write up as usual. I dread to think how our season would have gone without Cole Palmer.
Great write up, Luke!
This is should serve a reminder that experience of playing in the Premier League is essential if a player is to hit the ground running. For that reason, Toney is a no brainer
