Good Evening Ladies and Gents,
Todays ‘Cobham Kid’ didn’t exactly come through at Cobham but nonetheless the sentiment remains.
Lets please not use the comments to slate the board or anything about the young signings we have made over the last couple of years and just appreciate Cobham for being Cobham.
This is not only the most prestigious player I have written on yet, but the best player to ever come through our academy.
Todays players is none other than Captain, Leader, Legend himself! My idol JT, John Terry!
Where do I even start with this man, he is not only my idol and the exact reason I love our club, but he is Mr Chelsea and as much as we all love and support the club he matches that and more.
The most successful captain in our history, winning 17 major honours. He made 717 appearances in our first team, from his debut against Aston Villa in 1998 to finishing his career with Villa. Everything in between is the reason he is so highly regarded within the football world and within our Chelsea community.
Not only did he make 717 appearances, but he scored 67 goals which averages out to almost a goal every 10 games, which for a centre back is an incredible record!
He also had a similar record for England scoring 6 goals in 78 games. My favourite JT goal of all time is definitely the one in 2005 at home to Barcelona! What a header.
He was made vice captain in 2003 at the age of just 23 and one year later Jose Mourinho made him club captain as one of his first tasks and that is where JT’s already promising young career really took off and never looked back.
He has often said that Mourinho pushed his buttons and provoked him in the right ways that really got the best out of him.
After the Mourinho years, JT along with some other big characters really patrolled that dressing room and really steered us through some difficult times until Mourinho returned for 2.0.
After Mourinho left late in 2015 JT’s minutes started to reduce a little and at the end of the 2016 season it looked touch and go whether he was going to go or stay, he ended up signing a one year extension and winning the league in 2016/17 in his final season at the club!
Short and sweet but I absolutely loved reading up on JT and writing this article, I could have been writing this for hours on end, but realistically you all know the career and life of JT!
Thanks for reading

Such a long professional career. Have to have the body that can endure the rigors of the pl. have to be born with those genes. And still avoid too much bad luck.
