The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 20th November 2023!
Morning all,
I hope you had a good weekend and are surviving another very bland international break! The Chelsea news has been few and far between, all except the media wanting to tell us that we are going to be booted out of the Premier League every five minutes this weekend.
The rest of the Chelsea news has been rather tumbleweed, but fear not, we have it all jam-packed into another newsletter this morning regardless!
This week has belonged to Cole Palmer. In fact, I am sure he will tell you it has been the best week of his life so far, at least in terms of football. England’s new golden boy has achieved a lot this week and making his senior debut for England would have topped it. I have some comments made by Palmer on his positioning, and some more praise and videos off the back of an incredible week for him here.
I am going to be tapping into the knowledge and insights of Ben Jacobs today for his latest column to ask him about all this noise about FFP and the other charges Chelsea could receive and get him to explain exactly what is happening and what it means for Chelsea. That will be out later today. But first, let me tell you why Chelsea will always survive in here. I’ve given my thoughts on all the noise in this as well.
Another player who I think has earned some plaudits in the last few weeks is our stopper Robert Sanchez. Personally I have probably been over-analysing his kick outs a little too much of late and the stats show that his distribution on the whole has actually been quite good, especially short-passing. And also, I think Sanchez on the whole has been pretty good for us so far, bar the Declan Rice pass. Much more on that in here.
I am heading to Devon later today to spend a few days by the sea for my Wife’s birthday. So I have some housekeeping for you guys to read here so you know what will be happening content-wise this week. There actually isn’t going to be much different really, other than the live blogs.
Finally, check in on the full news roundups from Sunday in here. Even when the Chelsea news is light, there is always things to debate, read, and ponder!
I’m firing up the live blog this morning from around 7am, but as explained in the housekeeping article, I will only be running it live until around midday and then I’ll be updating it in bulk catching up on the rest of the day, for about 6pm each evening.
Have a good one people!
Peace, Si.
