The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 13th January 2025!
Morning all!
I hope you all enjoyed your weekend whatever it was that you got up to in the longest month of the year that actually ends up feeling as long as a year!
Chelsea played a bit of football on Saturday as they welcomed visitors from the land of Tyson Fury to Stamford Bridge. It was a comfortable game in the end after a pretty poor first half from Chelsea. But we ended up thrashing the League Two relegation battlers 5-0 whilst showing real dominance and excellent finesse.
You can read my full thoughts overall on the game in here to kick things off for today.
My next set of articles are all really based off reactions from the game as well and go into more detail on individuals and knock-on effects.
I have been saying for time that Marc Guiu needs to go out on loan this month in order to develop. He is far too raw right now, and raw players need game time. Chelsea need to loan him out this month and replace him with a striker for the here and now. Nicolas Jackson needs serious competition, and don’t even mention Chrsitopher Nkunku please [NOT a striker]. My thoughts on all of that in here.
Tosin Adarabioyo made the most of his start against Morecambe, and he was even named man of the match. Tosin scored two great long-range goals, who’d have thought he had that in his locker!? But the fact he started has told us that it will be Josh Acheampong who gets the nod against Bournemouth this Tuesday, which is great because he has deserved that trust. Tosin did himself some big favours on Saturday though. Words in here.
Joao Felix was also superb and could have easily been named man of the match as well. His two goals were world class, and he got some very good stats on the day too. I think Felix needs to start league games now, and to do that we simply have to move Cole Palmer back to the right. I know many on here have been calling for that for some time now, and I am finally joining that bandwagon. Words on that here.
And I have the Blues News report for you all to get your latest transfer rumours in here. This covers all the general news from Sunday as well.
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.30am this morning!
Peace, Si.
