Chelsea should target Jonathan Tah, Raul Jimenez shows Chelsea exactly what we are missing, Another former Blue states the obvious issue, Was anyone really relying on Spurs? News roundups, Much more..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 23rd April 2025!
Morning all,
Happy hump day!
The results have not been kind to Chelsea this week and at the weekend but really, we should never have been in a position of relying on other clubs, especially Tottenham, to get Champions League football this season anyway.
With Nottingham Forest beating Spurs on Monday, Chelsea slipped down to the 6th in the league which of course is where we finished last season. With five games to go, things are now completely out of our own hands. A look at where we are at here.
It’s time to bang the drum again, and this time I have had some help from former Chelsea striker Demba Ba. We can field a starting eleven of former Blues players who have all said that we lack experience and personality, and you can add Ba to that team. Read what he said and my thoughts on it here.
One thing we are clearly missing is a focal point up front, something we have been missing since we had Diego Costa in 2017. That’s crazy. Will it finally be addressed this summer? Let’s hope so. But they need the right profile, and that profile is Raul Jimenez. I’m not saying sign Jimenez by the way, I am just using him as an example of the type of striker we need to be looking at here.
And sticking with the right profile that we need to add to this squad, Jonathan Tah is another who we should be looking to add at the other end of the pitch. He is imposing, physical, tall, and is a vocal leader. The best thing is he is a free agent this summer. The fans want him too. More on that here.
And as always, you can round up all your latest general Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place here. This covers EVERYTHING you need to know and might have missed.
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.30am today.
Peace, Si.
Hi Si, it is still in our hands as we play both Newcastle and Forest. That being said, I doubt we win those games 🤦🏼♂️
