It’s a big one right? The quarter finals of the Champions League!

Chelsea have travelled to Spain to face Real Madrid in the first leg, before returning to conclude the tie at Stamford Bridge.

It doesn’t come much better for a pro footballer than this, getting to play in Madrid under the lights in front of thousands of people in the most prestigious domestic competition in football, is the best of the best for the players. They need to show up, and let’s hope that will provide all the motivation they need to do just that. I’ve got my full preview and predictions article here.

Frank Lampard has his presser ahead of the game yesterday afternoon and had some team news to deliver. Finally, Ian Maatsen has had a great season on loan with Burnley, recently helping them earn promotion to the Premier League. But his contract at Chelsea runs out in 2024. With the tense FFP situation and the fact Chelsea already have Marc Cucurella and Ben Chilwell in the squad, it might see Maatsen being sold. Words on that here.
