Covering: Forecasting Chelsea's Future, Essentiality Of James And Chilwell, Havertz Problems For Lukaku, Hypothetical Pondering Of The Summer, Plus All The Latest Stories On New Ownership...
Morning all,
Welcome back to the circus that is Chelsea Football Club right now, and things are only getting crazier and less clearer as the days go on if anything.
The Athletic has painted a rather bleak picture of the potential future in their story from Monday, but I’ve put my spin on that here and it doesn’t need to be as grim as suggested, at all. They also confirmed my exclusive story from last week.
You can grab all the rest of the latest stories and speculation surrounding our new ownership and sale of the club here in our live news blog from Monday.
Back to the on-field stuff now and more on our performance against Burnley. Kai Havertz scored twice and continued his good form of late, here is a piece on why he is now creating even bigger problems for Romelu Lukaku.
Reece James was also pinnacle to our win on Saturday, as he so often has been this season and in recent times. It once again reiterated just how essential he and Ben Chilwell are to this team and to Thomas Tuchel’s style of play, as well as just how much we have missed them both. Some thoughts on that here.
Finally, to finish off today, I’ve typed up another pondering piece here. It’s looking into a potential ‘what if’ scenario for the summer, and ironically it actually might make you feel a bit better after reading the stuff from The Athletic on Monday, and it is something I had actually written before that article dropped! Uncanny.
That’s all folks, catch you all tomorrow! Don’t forget though, if you ever want the latest on our ownership situation during the week, I run my live blog on the site that is pinned to the top where I’ll report any new events, my views, and my own sourced stuff there. So keep that open on your laptops in your offices or classrooms, tell your bosses/teachers that Si Phillips said it’s fine and essential right now!!
Peace, Si.
