Covering: Jim Ratcliffe Meeting Stakeholders And Still In Chelsea Race, RLC Positives, Kounde Exactly What TT Needs? A Surgical Summer Needed At #CFC, More On Boehly's Key Investors Clearlake, + More!
Morning!
Hope you all enjoyed your bank holiday weekend, back to the grind today people!
I’m still seething over our defeat to Everton and the manner in which we turned up (or didn’t turn up) and half-heartedly tried to win a football match. I’ve got some further reactions from that here based around how Manchester United might not be the only club that needs ‘surgery’ this summer.
I also wanted to draw on the only positive from that game and actually around his form in recent games - Ruben Loftus-Cheek. Some words and deserved praise on him here.
Jules Kounde could well be the first signing under the new Chelsea owners and the start of a new era at the club. But is he exactly what Thomas Tuchel needs? I’ve profiled him a bit more here and answered that very question.
And on the subject of our new owners, the race is certainly not fully finished yet and there are still two horses running hard. Get the latest on that and the general news from yesterday here, which includes news about Sir Jim Ratcliffe meeting with Chelsea supporter groups and stakeholders this week as he still attempts to wade in ahead of Todd Boehly.
And on Boehly’s group, some further information here on Clearlake Capital, the firm whole will gain a majority stake holding of the club if they are successful.
That’s it for today, have a good Tuesday!
Peace, Si.
