Morning!
Well, the season is over and we are at a little lull here between the season ending and the transfer window opening. I am more than ever open for requests on things you’d like to see me write about or any new features you want me to start? Please comment any suggestions you’d like to see more of here.
Once the sanctions are lifted, things will really start to go crazy, and as we know this summer is going to see a rebuild at the club, or at least the start of one. Which is why I have aptly named the first article of the day ‘Summertime Madness’! You can check that out here.
Next place to head to and grab all your latest transfer rumours and stories surrounding the club, is the latest live blog from yesterday here sweeping it all up.
I had a request from one of our community members on here to take a ponder at next seasons expectations, so I’ve written some words on that here. I’ll do a follow up to this at the end of the transfer window, as some views might differ by then, but I highly doubt they will change much.
Thomas Tuchel reportedly wants to speak with Cesar Azpilicueta to try and persuade him to stay at Chelsea this summer. This sparked a debate, and I’ve given my views on it here.
Finally, I still have some hope, but it doesn’t look like Chelsea have a lot of chance of signing either Aurelien Tchouameni or Declan Rice this summer (never say never). So, I’ve had a look at a few alternative DMs we could target this summer as alternatives in a hypothetical article here.
Thanks everyone!
Peace, Si.
Si thanks for all this. You asked for ideas for an article and I have one.
Do you think TT has rotated forwards too much? - i.e. they have not built up the understanding necessary to function effectively.
Mase has been playing almost as a forward rather than a number 8 and my particular concern is Kai - who, of the forwards, is the stand-out player from a technical viewpoint. We have played him as a 9/false 9 most of the season. He was heralded as a 10 but 10s are rare in the EPL. His finishing is still a bit loose to be a genuine 9 but his ability to find space and good positions is excellent in my view. The one thing I am sure of is that Kai needs to be a regular first team pick.
Has TT tried to please all his forwards by giving them game time - which has led to possibly excessive rotation? How do we fit Kai into the team? Who should go - Werner/Ziyech/Pulisic (God I am fed up seeing him drag simple finishes wide of the left hand post!)? Your thoughts would be appreciated (when you have time of course!) Thx.
Hi Si, so have you seen anything on a new owner transfer budget, ie what the club will try and spend on players this window
