Morning!
The World Cup is well underway now and last night saw some more heavy Chelsea involvement!
England kicked off their campaign with an emphatic 6-2 thrashing or Iran! I ran a live watch along match review of this one that you can find here, and this also features England player ratings!
Ethan Ampadu turned out for Wales against Christian Pulisic’s USA, that game ended in a 1-1 draw with Pulisic grabbing a very good assist.
And Kalidou Koulibaly and Edouard Mendy played for Senegal, a game in which Mendy will want to forget after having a nightmare. Koulibaly was good though but couldn’t stop Senegal losing 2-0 to Holland.
For the rest of the general news, transfer rumours, and quotes from the last 24 hours, check in with the live blog here.
Moises Caicedo was in action for Ecuador on Sunday in the World Cup opener, and there were plenty of Chelsea fans keeping a close eye on his performance. The Brighton midfielder is obviously a genuine Chelsea target, and I’ve got some words about his game here, as well as some bits on Chelsea’s plans, and whether I would sign him or not.
Next up, Declan Rice to Chelsea anyone? This one is potentially bubbling back up yet again, and I know we all have such a love hate relationship with this rumour! But can it finally happen? There has certainly been a positive development on this story, VERY positive in fact. Find out why here.
Finally, a sourced story to see us out today. We have some info here on our interest in Josko Gvardiol, as well as some plans for our own Levi Colwill.
Four more World Cup games on today, and plenty of scouting opportunities!
Have a good day!
Peace, Si.
