Morning!
It’s March already believe it or not, the month of my Birthday! I’ve decided I’m going to operate a Thiago Silva existence from now on, so I’ll be getting younger each year instead of older!
Hope you’ve all had a good start to the week, we’ve got a lot to chat about as always with this club.
The major bit of news from the last 24 hours is that Roman Abramovich has decided to step in and help with peace talks between Ukraine and Russia. The media weren’t expecting this one! Check that out here and the rest of the news from Monday from our live blog.
More on the Roman Abramovich situation here now with the trustees ‘stewardship and care’ debacle. I’ll be honest, this one is a bit of a mess really, but Chelsea remain calm.
Some more reflections from the League Cup final now and the first one is regarding the decision to bring on Kepa Arrizabalaga for the penalty shootout. It backfired, but it’s so easy to conclude an opinion on this AFTER the event. Here are some words on that.
The next one here is all about how we can hold our heads high after that game and if anyone lost, it was the match officials.
Finally now, a look ahead to our next major focus for now, the FA Cup 5th round this Wednesday night. We face Luton Town, and I’ve been pondering how Thomas Tuchel might approach this one here.
Thanks for checking in. Some personal news if anyone is interested, I’m off to Bristol Rovers this evening to do my first live scouting assignment on a couple of players, so I’ll let anyone who might be interested how that goes and keep you updated on my progress with it all.
Peace, Si.
