Chelsea Newsletter - Tuesday 12th July
Covering: Alternatives to Raphinha? Vale to get a chance? Defender updates - De Ligt, Koulibaly, Kounde, Skriniar, Chilwell and players backing TT, Addressing the elephant (DM) in the room, + more...
Good Morning!
Wow, it’s so hot! Hope you’re all managing to stay hydrated out there, unless of course you live in a cooler climate. If you are, I’ll send you some of this heat in the UK right now because it’s scorchio!
Let’s get to Tuesday’s Chelsea news. All the talk is about attackers and defenders right now, but I wanted to highlight once again, a position on the pitch that is more pressing and more important in my opinion, and that is in midfield. Let’s address the elephant in the room here.
Are we looking at any other attacking alternatives? Yes, we are, in short. But we are also considering other in-house options, such as Harvey Vale. Grab the latest on that and more in my attacker updates here.
Let’s go to the only place on the pitch bar goalkeepers that we haven’t yet covered in this newsletter, the defence. Here are some defending updates, although not much has really changed as of now but I wanted to write something due to be asked many questions on this.
Ben Chilwell has been full of praise for Tommy T this week, and his words just emphasise how I personally feel we should back Tuchel this summer. The players are, Chilwell absolutely is, get the latest on all of that here.
Finally, the live blog was running yesterday and as always right now during silly season, it was a busy one. You can peep that here.
That’s it for now! Have a good Tuesday, someone want to buy me a paddling pool!?
Peace, Si.
Morning Simon, it was great seeing the mainstream journalist confirming some of the things you have been saying here in the past weeks, I think I even saw Jacob Steinberg of the guardian mention whispers of us making a push for Declan Rice🤔. Anyway just wanted to say Kudos to you and the team and thanks for continually delivering reliable news to us. Hope you enjoy more sun today 🌞👊🏽
