Morning all,
Yesterday started off very slow. In fact, at one stage I saw tumbleweed go across my PC screen! And then, BOOM, it was pure madness! First of all, Todd Boehly has stepped down as interim sporting director at Chelsea and has taken up his now singular role as club chairman. He’s taken more of a back seat and leaving the new recruitment experts to the transfer decisions. And is the first deal they get done going to be Joao Felix in from Atletico Madrid? It very much looks that way now.
Understand that Chelsea decided to get into official negotiations to sign Felix on Monday morning after pondering a move for the last few weeks. This was stepped up due to further injuries to Christian Pulisic and Raheem Sterling. All the details of what I know, and how all the above events unfolded yesterday, can be found here, in yesterday’s live blog.
Before we get into the rest of the transfer news from our own sources. We had our Gianluca Vialli tribute go out live yesterday, kindly written by our Twitter admin, The Score. You can catch that here if you’ve not read it yet.
Next up, an exclusive story on Chelsea’s multi-club plans. We know they have been looking at a few countries, but there’s an interesting new one now being looked at, find out more about that here.
Two more sourced stories on some current transfer moves now. One here on right backs, and a new name has come to the forefront, one that for me, would be a very good option.
Chelsea still have eyes on other attackers as well as Joao Felix, and you can get the latest on them here. This was written before Chelsea officially approached Atletico for Felix.
Right, now let’s get a midfielder, yeah?
Have a good day!
Peace, Si.
Matt Law said on the London is Blue podcast that he thinks we’ll bid again for Enzo!
Feels like going cheap deals elsewhere to get more expensive and high quality options in the priority areas
