Chelsea Newsletter - Thursday 8th Sept
Well, that wasn't your normal Wednesday, was it? Reactions, fallouts, sources, the inside story, and all the reflections from the sacking of Thomas Tuchel. Potter to be confirmed today....
Morning!
That sacking of Thomas Tuchel came from absolutely nowhere. Even to us with inside sources, none of us knew it was coming. Not one media outlet reported it. Chelsea kept that under wraps, but when it came out, it was HUGE news. Obviously, we all have our reactions and views on this and what happened. I penned my extensive reactions within my article ‘Why Thomas Tuchel got sacked - The inside story’ here. There is a lot in here and explains exactly what went wrong for Tuchel, and as ever, it is never just one reason.
As well as that, I have all the reactions on the sacking as well as the news of Tuchel’s replacement. It all happened so quick, and you can get all that in the live blog from yesterday here.
Yesterday I had five articles written before the sacking that all largely became irrelevant and deleted! Nature of the beast, I guess? However, I have managed to keep two of them in here that are still relevant.
I have played around with some formations that I believe could at least help things right now if we used them. I think the issues were beneath just the formation and setups, but even still, there are things I believe any new manager can be doing to help. Check that out here.
It’s not been a great start at all for Kalidou Koulibaly in a Chelsea shirt and that nightmare continued this week. I’ve got some words on that here, as well as on Pierre Emerick Aubameyang, who should never have started on Tuesday night.
Finally, Graham Potter is the favourite to take the reins, so we do need to have a look at his profile. I’ve got an extensive article on him here.
Just myself and Macca on the Pod today but my god do we have a lot to talk about. It’ll be a clear opinion Pod and we will be reflecting on the whole Tuchel saga and replacements, and also reviewing the transfer window… Will be out around 6pm today UK time.
Oh, and also, I’ll do a Tuchel tribute article today. We will miss the man a lot, and it’s been a crazy day that I am still reflecting on.
Have a good day!
Peace, Si.
TT done us proud but it’s time for a change for sure. He had lost the changing room and playing players out of position at the top level was never going to end well.
First job for Potter, get all the players that don’t want to be at Chelsea out of the squad and in the academy till Jan.
Next, get the players fit and sharp as they are still way off.
Finally, try to play some good football as other than the spurs game, we have been terrible. I think players will turn up from now as they got their way and TT is gone. Little worried about Auba as he might stir the pot now the situation has changed. Never a dull moment at CFC. I love it!
Come on Chelsea!
Si, how likely we get Potter?
