Chelsea Newsletter: Thursday 30th March
Covering: Stadium plans, Enzo's finishing too good to restrict, How transfer operations evolved, How much can our loan players make? Plus all the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours!
Morning all,
Hope you’re enjoying your week so far. The international break has finished, and it’s time to concentrate back on Chelsea.
Sweep up all the latest Chelsea news, quotes, and transfer rumours here to start your day. There was quite a bit going around yesterday, including an extensive and interesting interview with Kai Havertz.
First of all, an interesting article here on who exactly David Barnard is, what he does at Chelsea, and him explaining how transfers have evolved recently. It’s a must read this one.
Another interesting one here that includes quotes from Chelsea, detailing the latest on the plans for the stadium redevelopment.
Meanwhile, in the final set of international matches this week, both Mateo Kovacic and Enzo Fernandez absolutely balled out. Kovacic scored twice for Croatia as they beat Turkey, and Enzo scored a beauty from outside the box. In this article here, I’ve touched upon how we need to give Enzo more chances to do this kind of thing for Chelsea now, and moving forward.
Finally for today, with all the scaremongering going around about Chelsea’s financial ‘problems’ and FFP worries, I’ve detailed a guess on how much our returning loan players alone can make us this summer. Of course, it’s not Football Manager and things are more complex than this, but it’s not impossible to make a decent chunk of cash on these players alone, read how here.
Myself and Macca will have the latest Pod out this evening around 6pm - expect a lot of singing (not from me) and a new intro tune (we might have to start taking requests). Oh, and we’ll also be talking about all of the latest current affairs at our beloved club!
Have a good one!
Peace, Si.
Morning Si
I'd be keen to hear any latest news on the Stadium plans.
Earls Court rumours seem to gathering pace. For me it's a no brainer, a brand new 70k stadium, being built while we play at the Bridge.
Yet supposedly the CPO would be against it?
For me, 4 years away from the Bridge would be the death knell for us.
Moving to a new ground, would allow us to really push on as a club. Big Stadium, new venue, extra revenue from non football events. If we were to get that choice stay or move to Earls Court, we have to take that offer!
