Chelsea Newsletter: Thursday 27th April
Covering: Brentford reflections, Sources on Romelu Lukaku, Sources on Kai Havertz, Pick your Pochettino Xl, Plus latest on Poch to Chelsea and all the rest of the news rounded up!
Morning,
Chelsea were back in Premier League action last night after a short little break from it and no game last weekend. The Blues welcomed local neighbours Brentford to Stamford Bridge and got beaten 2-0. This one is on Frank Lampard for a hideous starting Xl, there are no two ways about it. You can read my full thoughts on it all here.
What is the latest with Mauricio Pochettino joining Chelsea? You can grab that here as well as all the rest of the general Chelsea news and transfer rumours from the last 24 hours.
Before we get into the serious stuff with two sourced stories, I’ve asked you guys to conclude with the squad building polls for next season by picking your ideal Xl under Pochettino with the squad we have put together here.
We end today with a couple of sourced stories now. One here to start with on Romelu Lukaku following the news this week that he might be in for a shout of making the Chelsea squad for next season. This also has opinion in from myself, Macca, Charlie, and Rob, and a chance for you all to send your views in!
Finally, Kai Havertz’ future is unclear, and with his contract running out in 2025, there is every chance he is still sold this summer or next. But he also may be handed a new Chelsea lifeline, find out why here!
BIG Podcast guest announcement! We have Australian Snooker player Neil Robertson joining us today! Neil is a 3x player of the season, a World Champion, a triple crown winner, and perhaps most importantly of all, a very keen and passionate Chelsea fan with great views on the club!
We are buzzing for this one, especially Macca as he is a bit of a fanboy!! Will be out around 6pm tonight!
Peace, Si.
The picture that’s lead the article is of a man who sees his coaching career going up in smoke.
Problem is, if we get Poch in now - I’m fairly certain he’ll start with the same sort of players. No point in coming in until end of season. Let Lampard see out this shitshow that he’s contributing too, playing his mates and not the youth. I think myself and a lot of people were right about him not being the person to come in. Been a shocker from day 1 from these owners. Not that I’m laying the blame at their feet alone, but too much upheaval all at once hasn’t helped anyone. As much as I don’t think this “blip” will last, think we’ll be back next season (top 4). Just need this season to be over with NOW!
