Morning!
It’s a matchday kind of Thursday again as we get ready to take on Leicester City at Stamford Bridge in our second to last match of the season.
Having officially secured top four now, thankfully the pressure is off and we don’t all have to watch this game through our fingers. We are still battling to finish third in the league, something that I still expect us to take very seriously. So it’s a big game and it’s important to finish strong. I think I speak for everyone when I say I’m so pleased to see the finish line for this season!
Catch up on all the pre-match preparations, ownership takeover latest, and all the transfer rumours floating around in yesterdays live blog here.
Next up, I’ve released the third in my series of Old Skool Gem articles and the subject for this latest one is the legend that is Raul Meireles. What a player, and what a guy. Read my tribute on him here.
Some more transfer noise now, and the links with Ousmane Dembele just do not seem to disappear (not that I want them to). Will Chelsea be serious in a move for him this summer? Get the latest on that here.
Another rumoured Chelsea target is another free agent this summer, AC Milan centre-back Alessio Romagnoli. The Blues are reportedly eyeing a move for the 27-year-old, get my thoughts/report on that here.
Finally, some more information and thoughts on Clearlake Capital here, the company who will have the majority shareholding in Chelsea. Some very interesting snippets in this one.
We are recording a Podcast today that I will get out a few hours before the game tonight for a bit of pre-match listening. We were supposed to have a transfer related guest but unfortunately that couldn’t happen this week and it will happen next week instead. We have sourced an amazing replacement though in the shape of popular Chelsea fan and content creator Patrick Larson! We’ve been trying to get Patrick on for a while so we’re looking forward to it.
Let’s go Chelsea, get that last bit of effort in for a strong finish!
Peace, Si.
