Chelsea Newsletter - Thursday 16th June
Covering: Sources on Lukaku, Presnel Kimpembe to Chelsea? Thomas Starkosha to Chelsea? Do Chelsea have the DMs to fit Tuchel's system? Plus every other transfer rumour from the last 24 hours....
Morning all!
*Has Boehly been sacked yet? Honestly, the dude hasn’t made one signing yet and everyone else is building super clubs…. Get the man out already. *Please note sarcasm…
Well, although things are staying pretty quiet on the Western front, at least in terms of media reports anyway, we do have a couple of transfer rumours to rate today, and we’ll start there.
First up is a player that Thomas Tuchel has worked with before and really likes, PSG’s Presnel Kimpembe. Could he be one of the Christensen and Rudiger replacements? Get the latest on that here.
The next rumour to look at is Lazio goalkeeper Thomas Starkosha. Reports claim he’s the latest on our radar to potentially replace Kepa Arrizabalaga this summer. Check in on that one here.
A sourced story on Romelu Lukaku here, and if you’re in an unsteady frame of mind this Thursday morning, maybe avoid reading this one! Trigger warning alert!
The brilliant Ryan Gunness has been at it again this week, and his latest article on whether Chelsea have the defensive midfielders to fit Thomas Tuchel’s philosophy is one of his best so far. Really interesting stuff in here.
Finally, all the latest transfer rumours and general Chelsea news from the last 24 hours can all be found here from yesterday’s live blog.
Myself and Macca will be recording the latest Podcast later today and I expect to have that out by 6pm as usual. We will be going through all the latest news and discussing it all. Any particular topics you’d like us to cover, please drop it in the comments!
Peace, Si.
Looking forward to podcast when I get back from the golf course! Suggestion for podcast. The intention has always been that we go for Rice next summer when his value falls. However, as our targets drop like flies (Lewandowski - club no longer interested, Bissouma to Spurs, Jesus wants Arsenal, even Kounde and Dembele not as nailed on as much as they were) do you think that Boehly could actually be FORCED out of desperation to go for Declan this summer? He needs to walk the talk about major signings. I am not talking Inter rejects such as Demari.
I know you touched on your realistic squad choice next season reg transfers in, but do you think there’s a defining factor on what system TT might start the season with? The recent tactical analysis recently (so sorry forgot his name) has been too drawer, really enjoyed it, especially along with potential transfers n thinking where they’ll fit in and if it will inspire a change to 4 atb. I’d personally like to try 4 atb if we can get the personnel, but switch it up to 3 atb with the mighty Silva!
