Chelsea Newsletter: Thursday 16th Feb
Covering: Dortmund reflections, Jude Bellingham to Chelsea, Selling homegrown players, Poking the Dragon, Plus all the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours!
Morning all,
It’s the morning after the night before, and that night was a Champions League night. Domestic football’s most prestigious competition was back this week, and Chelsea were in action against Borussia Dortmund in the first leg of the last 16.
It was one of the most frustrating Chelsea games I’ve watched for a long time, but not because we played poorly. We actually played well, we just could not score to save our lives (groundhog day). You can get my full thoughts and reflections on the game here.
Jude Bellingham obviously turned out for Dortmund last night, and perhaps there was some perfect timing behind this story, but he’s once again been linked to Chelsea this week. I’ve dissected those rumours here, whilst also putting out my sourced info on it.
Speaking of transfers, Chelsea are reportedly looking at selling homegrown players in the summer. This could be a wise move for FFP. I explain that and more in here. This also has some sourced news on the latest on Mason Mount’s contract situation.
Before our game last night Graham Potter had his pre-match press conference. The media and some of the fanbase have been poking and prodding Potter for many weeks now, and it was nice to see the fire in his belly, or more accurately, the fire coming out of his mouth this week! Get that story here.
Check in on the live blog from yesterday here now to round up all the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours from the last 24 hours!
Myself and Macca will be on the Pod today speaking about the Dortmund game and much more! Will be out around 6pm.
Have a good day!
Peace, Si.
Yeah we’re already making the next blockbuster @ Chelsea. Harry Potter and the continued Groundhog Day 🙄🤯 it’s like going into battle with pea shooters honestly can’t make this shit up. And Potter sorry but why this over reliance on Havertz 🤬 Get rid end off! Rant over. Cheers Si I’m now off to find that elusive dark room to lay in.
