Covering: Sterling joins, Koulibaly next, Ake close, Latest on Leao, Gnabry, Dybala, & Depay, Boehly not playing fantasy football, Statement signings being made, Plus all the latest transfer stories!
Good Morning!
I’m almost lost for words after yesterday! Things really took off, quite literally with planes transporting Sterling to join Chelsea in LA, and Koulibaly for his medical in London, then to LA to join Chelsea! Two unreal elite signings that I am over the moon with. Then there was the Kimpembe and Colwill noise. I was ready to settle in for the night and watch a series, but no!
First of all, check out the live blog here from yesterday where I had my buddy Charlie helping me and joining me to post some updates in. Charlie has been a subscriber here from day one and has joined the team to help get even more and regular updates on the live blog, and cover it when I am not there, or need to eat, go to the loo, have a wash, you know, the things that a transfer window does not allow me to do!! I’m SO glad he was helping yesterday, because if I looked away from my phone for 2 seconds I had 46 updates to catch up on!!
Next up, some words on Raheem Sterling and Kalidou Koulibaly being statement signings. You might even throw Nathan Ake in here as well, not being a statement signing alone, but along with the other two being completed around the same time, the deals on the whole are a big statement. More on that here.
The latest news on our pursuit to sign another attacker as well as Sterling next. And we give the updates on Raphael Leao, Serge Gnabry, Paulo Dybala, and Memphis Depay here. Don’t forget, Rob Pratley also had some updates that he delivered exclusively on the Podcast yesterday, which you can find here also.
Let’s move to the defence now and addressing the whole ‘three new defenders’ situation. On this one, please take into account it was written BEFORE the Colwill noise, but even that I am really not convinced on being correct. But you can catch my full thoughts and check out the line up scenarios here.
Finally, some research and words on how Todd Boehly is making a big impression with club execs, agents, and owners etc as he continues to lead our transfer activity this summer. Some great bits in here about how Boehly has been misjudged by many, and also some transfer snippets.
That’s all folks!
Peace, Si.
