Chelsea Newsletter: Monday 17th April
Covering: Reflections on Brighton defeat, Sourced stories on new manager developments and future building (Levi Colwill), FFP balancing, and all the latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours!
Morning,
It’s another glum one this morning in the Chelsea world. God dammit, I’ve got a lot to say on it all, but at the same time I really don’t know what to say anymore. It’s truly hideous.
I love my job, I really do. It never feels like a job writing about the team I love and the sport I am obsessed with. But writing about Chelsea right now really does feel like a chore and I hate it. Turmoil and toxicity, some fans are turning on the board, on Frank Lampard, and I’ve had some hideous feedback from those at the game on Saturday. You can get my full thoughts on the Brighton game here, including some sourced reaction stuff as well.
Get all the rest of the quotes, reactions, general news, and transfer news from around the club in Sunday’s news roundup here.
There has been a lot being said about Chelsea’s FFP situation lately, and some of it scaremongering. I’ve rounded up some quotes and research done by some people with knowledge on it, and it’s never as bad as the extreme reporting on it. Find out more on that here.
Two big sourced articles to end the newsletter for today now. One first on the new manager developments. There’s a chance something might happen now sooner rather than later, you can get that here as well as the latest on the main contenders for the job.
Finally, our sources on Chelsea’s plans for the future and which players they are building around. Clue, one of them may or may not be Levi Colwill (it is). Get the whole story here!
Hope you have a good Monday. Top tip - to do so, don’t think about Chelsea! If like me you can’t avoid that, then join me on the live blog from 8am today! I’ll be there as always - Chelsea till I die!
Peace, Si.
Si Great article as always but have you heard anything about the allblack manager who was brought in to work on the mentality of the players.
