Chelsea Newsletter - Monday 16th May
Covering: FA Cup final reflections, Psychology behind Klopp and Tuchel's penalty preparations, Lewandowski to Chelsea? Perisic agreement? Sangare to Chelsea? Chelsea Women's FA Cup winners!
Morning,
Yuk. Nasty old Monday morning this one, but Chelsea Women’s turn up to pick us all back up again at least. But with the Men’s, I was disappointed, angry, gutted, sad, and anything else in between from the FA Cup final. We’ve now lost three FA Cup finals in a row and lost two domestic cup finals in a row on penalties to Liverpool. YUK.
I penned some general thoughts and reflections on the game here, which to be honest, was difficult to write due to just being so deflated now with this season for many reasons.
Something interesting on the penalty shootout was picked up on by a football psychologist, and I wanted to run it through you guys on here because I think it would have certainly made a difference and is something that for me personally, I’d have never even thought about until I saw this here.
Thank god for Emma Hayes and her players who gave us something to cheer about on Sunday though!
Some whispers generating regarding the future of Robert Lewandowski this week. He looks set to leave Bayern Munich and wants to go this summer. Barcelona appear to be leading the race, but could Chelsea join that race? Read more here.
Another big rumour from over the weekend now here, and that is the talk of Ivan Perisic to Chelsea. Is that something that might happen?
Finally, and it’s another transfer rumour, mainly because I don’t want to keep talking about the damn cup final loss, but also because it’s a very interesting one and could be a sign of things to come at Chelsea under new ownership and suing data-led smart recruitment, that’s Chelsea’s reported interest in signing Ibrahim Sangare. Read more on that here.
Hope this stinking Monday doesn’t drag too much for you today!
Peace, Si.
