Chelsea Newsletter - Friday 8th April
Covering: Ownership Race Latest, Recruitment/Scouting Overhaul A MUST, Tuchel Spot On To Call-Out Players, Some Positive Reflections From Me, Plus Kai Havertz Is The Best On Earth...
Happy Friday people!
I’ve swiftly moved on from Wednesday’s result and I’m already looking to Saturday against Southampton, and then next week’s return leg against Real Madrid where we make history with a triumphant comeback….
All we have is faith, right? And I’m going to start today’s newsletter with the positives. I’ve wrote here first on why I have hope that we CAN turn it around in Madrid next week, and I promise it’s not just delusional ramblings…. honest!
Next up, the one who can still come out of these last couple of games with his head held high, Kai Havertz. If only some of the other players on the pitch stood up to be counted when the chips are down rather than run and hide, we would be in a much better place right now. Here is a piece on the current form of Havertz and not just in his performances.
To balance it up and prove that I am not fully deluded, I’ve got a gloomy piece here as well and perhaps what some will describe as a much more realistic outlook of the current situation on the pitch. As much as I try to be optimistic, I’m afraid these are the thoughts that have remained deep inside me for a while now and will not go away.
Sort of interlinking with the above now, an article on one of the most important things that any new owners must do, and that is revamp our recruitment and scouting departments, and here I’ve given one main and valid reason why.
Finally, catch up on the latest ownership noise here as the race heats up, as well as any other Chelsea news to cover you from yesterday until this morning!
BONUS ALERT! Another in-depth tactical review from our guest analyst Ryan Gunness here, which is a real detailed look at what went wrong versus Real Madrid.
Also, you may have noticed that our Podcast wasn’t released yesterday…. That’s because we didn’t record it! Old Danny boy had to paint his nails and buy some more hair gel so couldn’t make the pod. As long as he’s got enough gel now, we WILL be recording today and the show will be out Saturday morning just in time for the Southampton build-up, perfect timing ;)
Have a crackin’ weekend all!
Peace, Si.
