Chelsea Newsletter: Friday 6th Jan
Covering: Badiashile signs! Manchester City reflections, Ben Jacobs on Enzo, Mudryk, Caicedo, FFP, and more, Sources on Declan Rice, Levi Colwill deserves a look in, Plus all the latest CFC rumours!
Morning!
We had a Thursday night game of football last night, which was a little odd on it’s own. Always reminds me of non-UCL European nights.
Chelsea largely played quite well against Manchester City and were unlucky not to get something from the game. I have a match review to check out here.
Ben Jacobs was on the Podcast last night, and his words were much needed. If you haven’t managed to catch that yet, he covers many things here, including explaining the Enzo situation, Mudryk and Caicedo interest, and much more. I also put an article out on the Enzo debacle yesterday morning here, if you missed that.
Chelsea announced a new signing yesterday, defender Benoit Badiashile. The 21-year-old arrived from Monaco, and you can read all about that, plus all the latest news and rumours on the live blog here.
With Badiashile arriving, what does that mean for Levi Colwill’s future? Despite thinking there might be room for both of them in the squad going forward, it does still concern me. Get my thoughts on that one here.
Finally, a positive sourced story on Chelsea’s interest in signing Declan Rice next summer, with the West Ham midfielder remaining a priority. Find out more here.
I’m away this weekend on a trip to Wales on Friday and Saturday night. Back on the site for updates on Sunday, and I’ll still be on the Substack App (download from your app store) if anything big goes on or anything to report about until then.
Hope you all have a good weekend!
Peace, Si.
"I am a proud man, not a spiteful man" - Luca expressing his joy at Chelsea winning FA CUP despite the disappointment of being dropped for the final by Gullit - Luca had been instrumental in us reaching the final.
Those words have always stuck with me.
Absolute top bloke and it is a very sad day for this Chelsea fan.
