Chelsea Newsletter: Friday 28th April
Covering: Chelsea situation - my honest assessment looking at the previous owners, current owners, mistakes, the players, managers, recruitment, and so much more. Plus, recruitment plans & Poch Xl
Morning all,
I panicked then and thought Chelsea were playing tomorrow, but then I remembered that thankfully, we have another weekend off that atrocity again! We are back in action on Tuesday night though, away to Arsenal. Great.
Anyways, I’ve used this newsletter today to really go into a deep dive of my current feelings around the club. I’ve done it across a few articles really and have based each article into one subject. They are all pretty deep dives and very passionate. All I’ve done in these is literally just speak what I think, what is on my mind, and added in some sourced snippets of what I know and what I’ve heard about it all.
So these cover EVERYTHING. The first one here is all about the previous and current owners, mistakes they BOTH made, recruitment last summer, lack of Sporting Director coming in last summer, bloated squad, not developing players, and so much more. Pure honesty in this from me but I think it’s also perfectly measured and perfectly fair.
The next one is based around Frank Lampard and management. As I’ve explained this week already, I’ve been disappointed and felt let down by Frank upon his return to the club. I’ve got another deep dive on all of that in here. This one also has sourced info in it and is looking at what we do now for the rest of the season.
The next one, which isn’t quite as deep a dive as they others, is based around recruitment for the summer and the clear out that is needed to happen. I’ve got some strong words of advice in this one here.
On a brighter note today, or at least a more fun note. We have now concluded our squad building polls that I asked you to vote in, and not only have we selected our squad for next season, we have also now picked our best starting Xl under Mauricio Pochettino. Check that out here.
Oh yeah, almost forgot about this today, but do make sure to check on the live blog from yesterday here where you can get all the latest Chelsea news from the last 24 hours. More reactions and quotes from the game in this one, as well as the latest on Poch to Chelsea.
Finally, it was great to speak to World Champion Snooker star and Chelsea fan Neil Robertson yesterday and hear all his thoughts on the current situation. You can listen to the full Podcast here if you haven’t already.
Remember to download the Substack App if you haven’t already and get notifications on for the chat in there, because that is where I will put any sourced news I get on Poch to Chelsea, or anything else in the next couple of days whilst I’m not on the site. Back Sunday!
Have a good weekend, and relax whilst you still can!
Peace, Si.
My god did I make a mistake championing Lampard
The silence today kind of freaks me out
