Chelsea Newsletter - Friday 22nd October
Covering: Azpi new contract, Hudson-Odoi, Lukaku and Werner injuries, Tielemans to Chelsea, and our general news sweep
It’s Friday people!
That means another match day tomorrow, and we have the early kick off to contend with.
We welcome Norwich City to Stamford Bridge and on paper everything about this fixture says an easy Chelsea win. The Canaries are rooted to the bottom of the Premier League table with only 2 points and no wins to their names.
However, this is the Premier League, and as we all know far too well, any game in this league can be very tough and a potential banana skin.
Chelsea will be without both Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner on Saturday, who both got injured against Malmo. I’ve got a bit of info and my own views on both of their injuries and that situation here.
Callum Hudson-Odoi will be hoping to get the nod in one of their places, after coming on and impressing against Malmo in his preferred left attacking role. I’ve got some good info on Callum and the current situation surrounding him here, as well as my views on it.
Cesar Azpilicueta carries on amazing me with his consistent and excellent form this season and last season. It wasn’t too long ago when we were asking whether his time at the top was slowing down.
I’ve got a report on him and his potential new contract with Chelsea here.
How about a nice juicy transfer rumour to start your weekend with? Youri Tielemans from Leicester City has been linked with Chelsea, so of course, I’ve rated that rumour and dropped my views and info here.
And finally, a pretty busy general news sweep here collecting up all the news of the day from Thursday.
Our latest Podcast Episode will be out later today as well so keep an eye out for that one. As a 50th Episode gift we put this one out for free (will only do that at milestones), so please help us and share this wide and far. We had a big Chelsea round table from some of your favourite Twitter characters, it was a lot of fun!
Have a top weekend people, COME ON CHELSEA!!
