Chelsea Newsletter: Friday 20th Jan
Covering: Noni Madueke agreement reached! Liverpool preview, The Daily Midfield (Enzo, Caicedo, and more), Long contracts and lower base salaries, Plus a sourced story on Levi Colwill, and more!
Morning all!
It’s Friday, we made it. There was no Chelsea games this week to test our weekday moods, but we are in action on Saturday lunchtime against fellow strugglers Liverpool!
You can catch my full thoughts, preview, and line up prediction for the big game here.
Before we go to the rest of the articles, we had the reliable reporter Sami Mokbel from The Daily Mail join us yesterday for a Chelsea transfer special on the Podcast. If you missed that, you can find it here.
Next up, head to the live blog from yesterday here to get the very latest Chelsea news and transfer rumours, including any sourced snippets I might have had. This is where you’ll see the Noni Madueke news as it unfolded yesterday!
Next, and I’ve aptly named these ‘The Daily Midfield’ now because I write one daily, the latest on our midfield situation here. Opinion and news on Enzo Fernandez, Moises Caicedo, Romeo Lavia, and more in this one.
I wanted to discuss Chelsea’s long contracts and lower base salaries next, which is something we are now bringing in for new signings and contract discussions. It’s a smart move, especially for FFP. But like most things, it might come with repercussions, like a new contract for Mason Mount, for example. Find out more on that here.
Finally, sourced news of some big interest coming in for Levi Colwill, and Chelsea’s attempts to get him signed to a new deal. Get the latest here.
That’s it for this week. I’ll be back on Sunday to round up again. Hopefully I’ll be speaking about a quality new midfielder about to join, and a big win at Anfield! Until then, anything significant I get, as always, I’ll post to the Substack chat on the app (available on android and iPhone - just download the Substack app from your app store).
Come on Chelsea!!!
Peace, Si.
