Chelsea Newsletter - Friday 1st April
Covering: Why #NoToRicketts? Protests Saturday, Scandal Behind Our Takeover, Boehly, Data, And Sustainability, Brentford Match Preview, Plus More...
Good Morning!
It’s April the 1st and it’s been snowing in the UK… Not even an April fools joke. Which by the way, you won’t need to watch out for any of these on my website, never been a fan of the whole thing if I’m honest! I don’t like to play with people’s emotions like that!
So tomorrow, we finally have a Chelsea match to watch and talk about, a much needed break from all the turmoil off the field. You can catch my pre-match thoughts on that here.
As you would have seen on socials yesterday, there is an organised peaceful protest happening before the game on Saturday at 12pm at Stamford Bridge. Whilst I haven’t organised this, I am backing it and you can find full details in yesterday’s live blog here, as well as a latest roundup of the rest of the ownership and general Chelsea news.
Some more ownership stuff now, and there has been a real scandal bubbling up that I’ve penned some words on here.
And to follow on from that, a friend has correlated all the things that have been negatively reported on The Ricketts Family into one place here (it’s only right to make this free for all to read so everyone has it available). We wanted to do this to show just how much there is against this bidder to buy our beloved club, and we wanted a place where anyone can go to remind themselves or to show others exactly what we are dealing with here and exactly why we are so passionate about stopping them, or at least doing all we can to stop them getting their hands on our club. Because it is OUR club at the end of the day. No fans, no Chelsea.
And finally, there was some really good stuff printed about another bidder this week and I wanted to speak on them a bit more here. Todd Boehly’s consortium for me, still offers our best overall collective party. Remember, there will be negatives for all, but these guys have the least negatives in my view (and no, I’m not sponsored by any party!!)
We had a couple pull out of the Podcast on Thursday but Dan will be recording later today with Matisse (Mah), who is the organiser of the protests on Saturday, so it will be a very interesting episode to hear the thought behind it, and Mah is a very good guy. That will be out some time later today if Dan can figure out how to upload (bless him). I’m away again this weekend, otherwise I’d have been up to London.
Have a great weekend guys and anyone going to the protests be safe and be peaceful, please. We don’t want the media negatively turning this. We just need to make ourselves physically heard now as well as on socials. And finally, COME ON CHELSEA!!
Peace, Si.
