Chelsea Newsletter - Friday 16th Sept
Covering: All the reactions from the Salzburg draw, Potters words, Tactical analysis, positives and negatives, What Potter needs to do now, Must amend mistakes in January, Plus all the latest CFC news
Morning all,
Happy Friday! Hope you have a great weekend whatever you are doing. No Chelsea of course, we have to wait another two-and a-bit weeks for that. As frustrating as that is, maybe it will be good for Graham Potter and the players to have some more time to work on the new plans and ideas. Although, even more frustratingly, many of them will be away with their national teams… Meh.
Anyways, let’s look at some more reactions of the Salzburg game, which was Potter’s first in charge of Chelsea, and his first ever UCL game.
There was a lot to analyse, and as always, I’ve come with the balance. First of all, if you haven’t read them yet, see the reactions from the man himself here. In this article I’ve also analysed his comments and given my own verdict.
Now let’s start with the negatives, bad news then good news is how I like to roll! I’ve dissected the negatives of the Salzburg game here.
Then I’ve got my positive reactions here. This is a tactical analysis article where I’ve looked at the key points that I found were very encouraging from the game this week.
As I spoke about in my summer transfer window review, I believe overall it was a VERY good window, but we did make some mistakes. We can address these in the January window, and here is what I am suggesting happens.
Finally, for all the very latest general and transfer news around the club, head to the live blog from yesterday here. This covers all that has gone on in the last 24 hours, including some more interesting bits on our pending new DOF!
That’s it for now, other than our Podcast from yesterday where we spoke to famous Chelsea author and fan Mark Worrall. You can listen to that here if you haven’t already. It was a VERY good Pod to be fair!
Enjoy folks. I’ll be back on Sunday, and I’ll even be ducking in and out the Discord chat before then! If you haven’t joined that yet, please do here if you fancy it. The link expires any day now!
Peace, Si.
