Chelsea Newsletter - Friday 15th October
Covering... The Terry and Benitez rift, Training report and videos, Rudiger to Real Madrid, Watch Drogba roll back the years, and our General news sweep
We’ve made it once again to another Friday and this one is even better because it spells out the return of Chelsea tomorrow!
I must admit I’m a little nervous about the game (mainly because Anthony Taylor is the Ref) and I am eager to get the full team news from Thomas Tuchel later. We still have doubts over Antonio Rudiger and Christian Pulisic.
Check back in later I will be positing up all the key points from Tuchel’s press conference as soon as they come out. You’ll get your email alert anyway. Which reminds me, DO check spam emails, this often ends up there for some reason. Everyone hates Chelsea, clearly!
Anyways, here is the news people..
First of all, I know you will be aware of it by now as it was all over socials, but Didier Drogba played a game of football on Wednesday night, and it inspired me to write some words on him, take a trip down memory lane, and I’ve also got pictures and clips of the charity match and his goals from in the week here.
Chelsea pressed ahead with training of course these last couple of weeks whilst many were on international break.
But it was a good chance for players like Ross Barkley and Ruben Loftus-Cheek to impress whilst it wasn’t so busy at Cobham, and they certainly did just that.
Check out my training report here which features three very entertaining clips!
Real Madrid are reportedly prioritising a move to sign Antonio Rudiger in January. Confused? Fear not, I’ve dived into that rumour and rated it here, as well as giving my own views/info as always.
Meanwhile, cast your minds back to the 2012/13 season, we had just won the Champions League and signed a world class Eden Hazard, this was supposed to be the season we really pushed on…
But it wasn’t to be, and one major part of that was the club appointing Rafa Benitez. A look back on that time here and the rift between him, the fans, and most importantly, John Terry and some of the players.
This includes quotes from Terry, Benitez, and Demba Ba on the situation.
Finally, to finish up I’ve compiled the general news sweep here that has THE best featured image ever!
