Whispers of Chelsea’s interest in Borussia Dortmund and England winger Jadon Sancho are surfacing again, albeit not really from any of the top sources yet.
The 20-year is tipped to be leaving Germany this summer and a return to the Premier League looks on.
There was the Manchester United saga last summer, with the winger looking destined to go there. However, this did not transpire for many reasons.
This summer could be a different story, but will Chelsea genuinely be in for him?
Well, we aren’t ruling it out. When we tapped into our sources here and asked about Sancho to Chelsea, we were simply told to ‘keep a very close eye’ on it, suggesting that we could reignite our interest in him.
I guess it depends on a lot of things, the main one being how the rest of the season goes for Chelsea, if Christian Pulisic manages to stay injury free, how Thomas Tuchel continues to line up (without natural wingers currently), and whether Tuchel would want Sancho as a target.
He has always interested our board, that is a fact. This has not changed. But the club will soon be sitting down with Tuchel to discuss potential targets for the summer, and Sancho’s name may well come up again.
Manchester United will also surely try hard again to sign him.
One to watch for sure.
