Chelsea 1 Leicester 0, Frank Lampard deserves respect in adversity, Forest's masterclass in winning without possession, Reece James in midfield brings big benefits, Blues News Report, Much more...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 10th March 2025!
Morning all,
We’ve reached Monday again and we have a game to review from yesterday!
Chelsea played Leicester City in the Premier League on Sunday and got a vital three points in the race for Champions League spots.
You can get my full review, ratings, conclusion and more here.
You can gather all your latest general Chelsea news in the same place from yesterday here in The Blues News Report. This also has every word Enzo Maresca said in his post-match presser.
These articles were all written before our game against Leicester just FYI, not that it makes much difference but still.
The first one is on Reece James playing in midfield. You guys will know that I have always been an advocate of this even though I also love him at right back. Enzo Maresca says he’s always seen James as a midfielder, which is good to know! Some people reacted negatively to those comments, and I’ve given my view here.
A couple of ‘non-Chelsea’ stories now although they do have direct relevance to Chelsea.
Who else is buzzing for Frank Lampard then? I know I am! He is smashing it out the park with Coventry and it’s time to offer our respect. Long way to go yet of course for him this season, but what he has achieved so far is incredible, and in a very tough league. But that is just the Frank Lampard way, no? Words on all of that and more here.
Nottingham Forest also deserve respect right now, especially after beating Manchester City with just 30% of possession! Incredible. But as I keep saying, teams are learning how to play against possession football, and I’ve got many words on Enzo Maresca, Chelsea, Forest and more here based around all of that.
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.30am today.
Peace, Si.
