Chelsea 1 Crystal Palace 1, 2024 Summer Transfer Window Review: Neglect, positives, & negatives, Chelsea WRONG to not sign new striker, Full news roundups & match reactions, More...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Monday 2nd September 2024
Morning all,
Well, that’s another summer transfer window well and truly over for another year, and we now have January to ‘look forward’ to next (will soon be here in just 3 months time). I wonder if we can go a FIFTH transfer window without signing a true number 9? Good god.
Anyway, I have a MEGA long article for you all today reviewing the summer transfer window and going through each arrival and each outgoing, whilst addressing the issues of neglect from our squad builders, the negatives, and also the positives (because I do it all here and will always look at all sides). I highly recommend reading this one here today if it’s the only article you read - my detailed and long thought out opinions in this.
But please do read the other articles today as well 😂
You can start with my match review article on our game against Crystal Palace from yesterday. I rated the players, manager, and much more in this here. Chelsea dropped two points at home to Palace, but there were some positives as well as negatives.
Our man Dylan did his watch-along video. You can watch that back here if you didn’t join him, and also check his mini preview.
Check out Enzo Maresca’s post-match reactions on the game, as well as covering all the rest of your general Chelsea news from across Sunday in the evening news report here. One of our recent exclusives also confirmed by David Ornstein in this too!
And finally, The Score has it bang on in when he says it was WRONG for Chelsea to neglect the striker position YET AGAIN. Detailed opinion on what we did right and what we did wrong in here.
Right, I’ll have the live blog running from around 8.30am where we can continue to discuss the game and much more. See you all there!
Peace, Si.

Did we ‘neglect’ the striker position or did we decide that Osimhen’s ridiculous demands were way beyond our means and far exceed his value? And perhaps Toney, with all of his issues, wanted to escape the PL.
To me, this is sense and realism, not neglect. Osimhen’s current dilemma may inspire him to adjust his demands, in which case he’ll cost a lot less by Christmas.
