Can we finally see a bit of ruthlessness from the board and the owners?
If they manage to pull both of these deals off we will have to applaud that.
Good afternoon Ladies and Gents,
What a whirlwind day so far, Ornstein dropped a bomb, Osimhen’s agent is waffling without actually denying negotiations and Si has had some sourced updates saying there is legs to the Chiesa to Chelsea stories.
I mean this is the sort of ruthless and proven stories that we like to hear, going after an out and out goal scorer (who still has some flaws in my opinion) on a potential loan + option/obligation would be an excellent piece of business, it would allow us to mitigate any PSR breaches for the 24/25 season and put the potential Osimhen fee on the 25/26 books or if it doesn’t work out just send him back to Napoli.
Lets not get it twisted De Laurentis is the Daniel Levy of Italy, he is tighter than most directors in European football and he is far from stupid so there will be clauses in there that make it an obligation IF this deal gets done because they need to protect their interest which is Osimhen’s value if he does return to Napoli.
But overall that could the smartest piece of business by any club in this window, I have been EXTREMELY vocal in saying I don’t want Osimhen because of the financial package and the quite frankly ridiculous release clause he has attached to him, I have minor doubts over his ability but overall I rate him as a player just not for the 100m+ that was being branded about.
The best part of this POTENTIAL deal would be the resolution of Lukaku’s future and the fact we would finally get that waste of space off our books and out of our club!!
On to Chiesa, I wrote an article earlier this window when Juventus put him up for sale for 20m Euro (16.5m GBP) saying it is such a low cost deal that even though it is high risk from an injury standpoint, from a financial one it is a no brainer. There is a truly world class player in there, he just needs to find himself and maybe a new league with his compatriot as his manager could work.
Chiesa is extremely talented winger and the type of winger we are crying out for if you ask me, yes the injuries are an issue but it isn’t like we don’t have depth to allow him to rest.
I am EXTREMELY pessimistic nd it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest if neither of these incoming deals happened and we end up with some 19 year old from Peru instead but for now I want to enjoy the thought that we could be about to pull of a couple of extremely smart deals for 2 world class footballers.
What do you all think?
Thanks for reading

Hi Luke, like you I wanted us to get Toney.
However as Si has reported, the club will move IF an opportunity arose.
Well, here it is the moment of truth.
One which I believe, will define our summer transfer window.
We simply must get Oshimen!!
Loan with an obligation to buy yes!
OR £58 million plus Lukaku, yes!
We cannot let this deal collapse.
Pay the wages, pay the agents fees, just get Oshimen signed.
Clear the deadwood we need to sell, in order to fund the deal, but whatever happens we MUST get this deal done.
Oshimen upgrades us instantly.
To have a front three of Jackson, Oshimen & Palmer would give us some serious firepower.
As for Chiesa.. I like him, but surely Jackson can revert to his natural position on the left wing. Plus Jacko can play upfront as well.
So I don't think we'd need him.
I'd probably loan Mudrk out to gain some much needed experience.
As we'd have Sterling & Nkunku who can play there as well.
The chance to sign Oshimen is massive and would really lift the fans & club.
Please, Egbhad & Todd get it DONE!
If they get the Ossie deal done with a loan and getting the cement the other way I would buy someone a beer or 3
