BREAKING: Chelsea set to pull out of the European Super League
The latest on news at Chelsea are preparing documentation to solidify their withdrawal from the European Super League
What a turnaround.
In the last few moments, @DanRoan has confirmed what many of us connected to the club had heard rumoured to occur this morning, Chelsea are set to request to withdraw their involvement in the newly proposed European Super League.
Over the past 24 hours, it had become public knowledge that Chelsea, alongside Manchester City were growing uncomfortable with their decisions to accept a place in the all-new “European Super League.” We at SDTC had been told from within the club late last night/this morning that Chelsea were exploring the option of withdrawing their acceptance, well here it is.
Thousands of fans gathered outside Stamford Bridge today to make their opinions known and their voices heard. These fans were recently addressed by club legend and technical/performance advisor, Petr Cech; who pleaded with the fans to “give the club time”.
Whilst writing this article, Matt Law, a reliable Chelsea source confirmed it was indeed Chelsea owner, Roman Abramovich who triggered the move.
The power of the fans is often underestimated in the modern game, I for one can only share how proud I am of these fans for pushing the good fight of Chelsea fans all over the world. Whilst the fight is still young, this is a great start in the battle against greed and monopoly in our beautiful game. Up the Chels.
