As I’ve been optimistic with since the start, Chelsea have now reportedly agreed a fee verbally with Leicester City to sign Wesley Fofana.
It’s probably from one of the best sources around for French players, RMC Sport’s Fabrice Hawkins.
He says: “Both clubs are close to completing the transfer. An agreement has been reached around a record sum for a 21-year-old defender.”
Without researching, I have no idea what that is, but it is likely that Chelsea’s latest £75m offer was accepted, as I reported here this week.
Our sources were confident this one would be accepted, and now it looks like it has been. Fofana of course, agreed personal terms with Chelsea weeks ago and has been waiting on the move.
I doubt we will hear any real official clarification from clubs until AFTER the game tomorrow, but it is clear and has been clear for some time, that this one would/will go through due to how hard the player has been pushing.
Of course, we’ve been here before so remember this is NOT a DONE DEAL yet, so hold onto that champagne for now. However, this IS a hugely promising development and significant update this evening, and one we have all been waiting for.
This is the same source who broke Kalidou Koulibaly to Chelsea.

My sources have confirmed an agreement is now in place. Leicester didn't want it to come out until after the game, and I don't expect any further real confirmation until after then. But fee IS verbally agreed.
As for Aubameyang, I'm told Chelsea are annoyed with Barca as they expected to agree a fee yesterday and wanted to register the player for the game tomorrow. However, Barcelona are playing silly games and not reaching an agreement, Chelsea not folding to their wishes as of now. Still optimism that this also gets done though.
