The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 8th February 2024!
Morning all,
Well that was SO much better wasn’t it? A resbite from the turmoil! I certainly enjoyed that win, especially the first 45 minutes. It was what we had all been hoping for and expecting yet has rarely come. I am absolutely soaking that one up this morning and just enjoying it. We have had good moments and bad moments, some very bad moments. But I’m certainly going to make the most of the good, and that was probably the best first 45 I have seen since preseason.
I have a lot more to say about it, and you can grab my match review, full thoughts, manager and player ratings and conclusion in here.
I will roundup Pochettino’s comments after the game in this morning’s live blog that I will fire up real soon. But all the rest of the news from the buildup to the game can be found in yesterday’s live blog here. Plenty of quotes and interesting snippets of news in this one.
Of course, it’s impossible to steer away from all the talk around Mauricio Pochettino’s future and all the issues we have seen coming out at the club this week, but also please do note that all the below articles have been published yesterday morning way before the game.
I have an updated sourced article on the situation with Pochettino and what the club have been thinking this week. Will they pull the plug or are they determined to stick? What about restructuring the recruitment team? You can read all of that and more in this one here.
Following on from that one, it’s time for you guys to get involved. I put out a set of polls yesterday for different managerial scenarios. I wanted to see where everyone was at with potential replacements for Pochettino, amongst other things. So please do take part in here.
Luke has got a linked article to the polls today and he has gone a little deeper with some info and research on a few of the names linked with Chelsea this week. Well worth a read of that here. He put a lot of time and research into this one, detailing the tactical side of what a few names could bring.
Myself and Jai will be recording the latest Podcast today at around 4.30pm to discuss the Villa game, Pochettino, the issues at the club, and much more. This week we have a guest, and you will be pleased to know that it is a community member and contributor to this site, Danny Windsor. Danny wrote the incredible article from earlier this week that I know so many of you enjoyed reading, so it will be great to hear more of his insights and options later on today!
Right, do join me on the live blog as always from around 7.30-8am UK time. See you there!
Peace, Si.
Rest bite? Respite?
