Assessing Chelsea's squad build - how many players are indispensable? Newcastle pile pressure on Chelsea but can we do it? Sanchez really said we 'did a job' against Brentford, Mikel praises Jackson..
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Wednesday 9th April 2025!
Morning all,
Hump day is here and Chelsea play in Europe tomorrow night! Reasons to be cheerful this morning.
Round up all of your latest general Chelsea news from across the last 24 hours in the same place for your convenience here to kick things off today.
Meanwhile, in the Premier League, Leicester could not do us a solid against Newcastle on Monday night and now the run in is looking much tougher. Toon can go above us with their game in hand, but we still have an ever so slight hold on 5th place. Let’s look at our run in here and vote on whether we can make Champions League football or not.
Fear not though, Robert Sanchez says that confidence is high after Chelsea ‘did a job’ at Brentford on Sunday. I’m sorry, you what mate? A 0-0 draw against Brentford is doing a job? Where has our winning mentality gone? You can read Sanchez’ words and my very short but to the point reaction on them here.
So, with all of that in mind, how many of our current Chelsea squad do you actually see as indispensable? This squad was VERY expensive to build, but have they done a good job and are there many of this current squad that you would keep and how do you rate them over all? Cast your votes here.
A positive one to end things for this newsletter, and guess what? John Obi Mikel has complimented Nicolas Jackson! Yes, you did read that correctly. Check out exactly what he said here.
See you all on the next live blog from around 8.30am this morning.
Peace, Si.
