Abraham, Declan Rice, 14 players out of contract, matching a 116 year old record, Abramovich means business
#Issue19 of our Chelsea FC Newsletter
Welcome to #Issue19 of our Chelsea FC Newsletter, which is a day late this week as it was my birthday on Monday!
It also marks a whole year since the first UK lockdown, and whilst we hope for brighter days VERY soon, the lockdown has helped me be more creative and setup the SPTC community right here.
We hit 2,000 subscribers last week, so thank you to each and every one of you for coming along on this ride.
It is an international break, and yes I know, they tend to drag and we have to wait 11 days for our boys to play again.
However, we have some time to reflect, and at least Thomas Tuchel gets a little rest. He’s now gone 14 games unbeaten since he took charge, 11 of those games without conceding a goal.
In fact, the 2-0 win over Sheffield United on Sunday saw Chelsea match a 116 year old club record of 7 clean sheets in a row, something we first achieved in our very first season in existence in 1905/06!
Quite remarkable, take a look at just how Tuchel and the gang have managed to do so in this mini tactical review here.
We can also use this time, as Tuchel most certainly will be alongside the board, to look ahead to the summer and potential new arrivals and departures.
Tammy Abraham’s Chelsea future is up in the air, and we have a couple of pieces on that this week.
One from our insider Dan McCarthy, who dives into the situation from Abraham and the clubs point of view here.
The second one is a bit of interesting information we have been given on potential a potential club who are interested in signing Abraham, and what that could mean for Chelsea’s rumoured interest in another player, check that here.
Sticking with the subject of the summer transfer window, I wonder what will be in store for the 14 Chelsea players who’s contracts end at the club within the next 2 years?
We’ve got some inside info on some of them, and give our verdict here.
Finally, he RARELY speaks in public at all, which is why it was such a pleasant surprise to see our owner do a very positive interview over the weekend.
But it hasn’t been all positive, with Roman Abramovich also now finding himself in a court battle.
We catch you up on that situation and his great interview here.
That’s it for now, don’t forget to subscribe for FREE if you haven’t already, and get our exclusives, weekly podcasts, these newsletters, tactical reviews and loads more direct into your inbox before anyone else.
Have a good week SPTC family!
