The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 20th June 2024!
Morning all,
England are in action again this evening, lets hope for a better performance. I’m not sure when we are going to do the Podcast this week, we might push it to the weekend, but will let you all know.
Onto the Chelsea news now and as always, the best place to get the very latest on all of our transfer situations right now from our own sources as well as others, is in yesterday’s live blog which can be found here.
I wish I could stay on the blog all night but unfortunately I have to sign out at some point, and here are some bits that came out after I signed out at 8pm last night!! (some people don’t actually sleep I swear).
From Fabrizio Romano:
‘Chelsea are confident on the Michael Olise deal! They have had positive conversations! Palace have offered him a new deal, but they know Chelsea are the favourites!
‘All clubs hope to have an answer from Michael Olise, maybe in the next week.’
This one made me laugh, you literally could not make this up (I actually joked to sources last night it would be a Villa academy player 😂🙄)
‘As part of the Ian Maatsen deal, Chelsea will buy an Aston Villa player. They could reactivate the Duran deal or buy a young player from the Villa Academy. All separate deals.’
We’re also apparently bidding for another South American teenager….
From local source, Uriel Lugt:
‘Chelsea made a formal offer for 19-year-old Argentian centre back Aaron Anselmino. The offer is close to £13.3 million. They have offered the player a four-year contract.’
I wrote about the latest on the striker situations early yesterday morning. I had sourced info in here also on how Enzo Maresca has got to work already even though he doesn’t officially start until July 1st.
And another sourced update went out from us on the Michael Olise situation yesterday morning. This has updates and where we are at, but also explains the complexities of the release clause and why it is taking some time to get done. You can read that in full here.
The Score believes, like the majority of the Chelsea fan base, that Chelsea need to sign a more established striker this summer. But he will back whoever comes in, again, like the majority of us will. Read his latest in here.
Anchoring things up is Luke now. He has continued his Euros content and I think like all of us, he is really enjoying it. Is it the best start to any Euros? You can read his latest in full in here.
See you all on the live blog from around 8.30am today!
Peace, Si.
