Nico Jackson is doing well but a new ST is needed, Enzo fatigued as well as injured? Everton deep tactical analysis, Cole Palmer - The stats, News roundups, More...
The Chelsea FC Newsletter: Thursday 18th April 2024!
Morning all,
It’s Podcast day today and I will be back on the show after missing last week when we had to reschedule the time. I could have come on with Solly but I think his crying, farting, (some sleeping), eating, burping, and happy screeches may have been a little off-putting! I’ll be on with Jai later today (who also makes many of the above mentioned noises to be fair), hopefully you’ll all be able to take a listen when it’s out.
Before we start to focus on the massive FA Cup semi-final match against Manchester City at Wembley on Saturday, we are going to dip back towards Everton. I will preview the cup game later today and also on the Podcast later on. But first and foremost, we had the fantastic Seun with his tactical deep dive on the Everton win, and as you’d imagine, this is a very enjoyable and interesting analysis article to read here.
My next article is on Enzo Fernandez, who I spoke about earlier in the week as well. We were debating whether he should be dropped for upcoming games due to how well Moises Caicedo and Conor Gallagher played in the double pivot on Monday night. But after that, news came out that Enzo might need a small bit of surgery on his ongoing hernia issue, so that changes the debate for me a bit. I think he is mentally and physically fatigued anyway, and needs a break. Read all about that in here.
Nicolas Jackson has improved so much this season and other than the penalty drama this week, I have been impressed with him in recent games. His form is good. But no, that absolutely does not mean that we shouldn’t be signing a new striker this summer, and I provide clear reasoning for that in here. Shouldn’t even be a debate though and for most of us here, it isn’t.
Round up all your latest Chelsea news in the same place next from yesterday’s live blog here covering the last 24 hours in the wonderful world of CFC!
The anchor man now to round things up. After the week Cole Palmer has had, Luke thought it was a great time to looking deeper into his unreal stats, this is actually quite insane, and you can read all about that in here.
See you all on the live blog from 8.30am!
Peace, Si.
I doubt he'd write this same title after Saturday🙄🙄🙄
